In the circumstances reported by the Director of School Education in his letter 7th read above, Government after careful examination of the matter, have decided to issue orders relaxing the upper age limit from the existing 42 years to 44 years, in respect of teacher recruitment only as a onetime measure through District Selection Committee, in relaxation of the orders issued in the G.O. 6th read above, in addition to the age concession over and above the upper age limit prescribed to the categories under Rule 12 of the Andhra Pradesh State and Subordinate Service Rules, 1996, as a special case and onetime measure, subject to condition that, no other relaxation in age criteria in any other terms and conditions of employees like promotions, pensions, departmental exams, fundamental rules, leave rules etc., may be sought post selection of candidates who availed this relaxation. Government have also decided to fix the cut-off date as 01.07.2024 for reckoning the age, in relaxation of Rule-12(v) of AP State and Subordinate Service Rules,1996, as a special case and onetime measure for the Mega District Selection Committee recruitment.

 

Accordingly, the following Notification will be published in the Andhra Pradesh Gazette dated:17.04.2025.

 

NOTIFICATION

 

"In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to Article 309 of the Constitution of India and of all other powers hereunto enabling, the Governor of Andhra Pradesh hereby order for relaxing the upper age limit from the existing 42 years to 44 years, in respect of teacher recruitment only through District Selection Committee, in relaxation of the orders issued in the G.O. 6th read above, in addition to the age concession over and above the upper age limit prescribed to the categories under Rule 12 of the Andhra Pradesh State and Subordinate Service Rules, 1996, as a special case and onetime measure. Further, hereby issue orders fixing the cut-off date as 01.07.2024 for reckoning the age, in relaxation of Rule-12(v) of AP State and Subordinate Service Rules,1996, as a special case and onetime measure for the Mega District Selection Committee recruitment."

 

The Director of School Education, shall take further necessary action accordingly, in the matter.

 

This order issues with the concurrence of the GA (Ser.A) Dept., vide their U.O.No. GAD01-SERV/273/2025-SER-A (C.No. 2791500), dt. 04.2025 and the Finance (HR.I. Plg. & Policy) Dept., vide their U.O.No. FIN01-HROPDPP/19/2024-HR-I, (C.No: 2338619), dt. 17.04.2025.

Public Services - Andhra Pradesh State and Subordinate Service Rules, 1996 – Maternity leave to Married Women Government Employee- Treating the maternity leave as duty for the purpose of counting the probation period and for declaration of probation- Amendment to Rule 2 and Rule 16 of the said rules- Notification - Orders -Issued

Read the following: -

1. G.O.Ms.No.436, General Administration (Services-D) Department, dated the 15th October, 1996.

2. G.O.Ms.No.152, Finance (FR.I) Dept., Dated: 04.05.2010. 3.G.O.Ms.No.35, General Administration (Ser.D) Dept., Dated: 16.03.2024.

 

ORDER:

 

In the reference 3rd read above, orders have been issued that the maternity leave sanctioned as per the orders issued in the reference 2nd read above, shall be treated as duty for the purpose of counting the probation period and for declaration of probation. Government also order that other kinds of leave combined with the maternity leave shall not be treated as duty for the purpose of probation as per the existing rules and also stated that necessary amendments to A.P. State and Subordinate Service Rules, 1996, and A.P Fundamental Rules & A.P Leave Rules shall be issued immediately by the General Administration Department and Finance Department.

 

Accordingly, the following notification will be published in the Andhra Pradesh e- Gazette:


NOTIFICATION

In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to Article 309 of Constitution of India and of all other powers hereunto enabling, the Governor of Andhra Pradesh hereby makes the following amendment to the Andhra Pradesh State and Subordinate Service Rules, 1996 issued in G.O.Ms.No.436, General Administration (Services-D) Department, dated the 15th October, 1996 as subsequently amended from time to time:

 

AMENDMENT

In the Andhra Pradesh State and Subordinate Service Rules, 1996,-

  1. After item (a) of sub-rule (14) of Rule 2 the following shall be inserted namely;-

(a a) In the case of Married Women Government Employee, when she is on maternity leave during her period of probation;

  1. After item (iii) of Rule 16 (c) the following proviso shall be added
    namely;-

“Provided that maternity leave sanctioned to Married Women Government Employee shall be treated as duty for the purpose of counting the probation period and for declaration of probation”.
